Gala films, nonprofit stories, and estate and equestrian content in Great Falls, filmed by a local crew that knows how to work on private land and in protected settings.

Great Falls gives a camera things no studio can build. The Potomac pours through Mather Gorge below the overlooks at Great Falls Park. Horses cross open fields at Turner Farm in early light. A tent glows on an estate lawn off Georgetown Pike as a nonprofit's biggest night of the year gets underway. This is a community of large wooded lots, pastures, and historic places, fourteen miles from Washington, DC and a world apart in pace, and the stories here are personal: a foundation honoring a neighbor, a family marking a milestone, a conservation group protecting the river corridor its members love.
That character shapes the work. There is no soundstage and no hotel ballroom with a house crew. Shoots happen on private estates, at a private club, in a family-run restaurant that has drawn diners since 1976, and in parks run by the National Park Service and the Fairfax County Park Authority. Access is arranged, not assumed. Light changes fast under the tree canopy. Sound carries across quiet roads, and the county's rules travel with it.
We are a full video and content production team based in Washington, DC, a short drive out Georgetown Pike. Gala films, nonprofit stories, interviews, event capture, and brand and lifestyle content, produced with crews who know how to be guests on someone's land and still get the shot. Concept through final delivery, one team.

Most Great Falls work falls into three kinds of stories, and each one films differently.
Nonprofit and gala films lead the calendar. Foundations, schools, and community organizations here raise serious money at estate galas, club dinners, and evenings at the Great Falls Grange, and the film is often the emotional center of the program. We shoot beneficiary and founder interviews in homes and gardens in the weeks before the event, build the piece around the room it will play in, then capture the night itself, the arrivals on the driveway, the auction under the tent, the moment the film lands. Because the same team produces the live event when Simple is handling production, the screening, sound, and lighting are designed for the film, not adapted to it at the last minute.
Equestrian and estate lifestyle content is the second thread. Great Falls is a genuine horse community, with private barns, fenced pastures, and facilities like Great Falls Equestrian and the county's Turner Farm, where a 200 by 300 foot arena and a cross-country course host schooling shows and training days. We film riders, trainers, and therapeutic riding programs with the patience that work around horses demands: quiet sets, long lenses, early call times for the best light, and no surprises near the arena. Estate and property films follow the same discipline, telling the story of a place through its land, its buildings, and the people who care for it.
The landscape itself is the third thread. Great Falls Park offers the falls, the gorge, and the remains of the Patowmack Canal. Riverbend Park, the county riverfront park beside it, offers meadows, woodland trails, and quieter stretches of the Potomac. Colvin Run Mill, the county's working 19th-century water-powered mill built around 1811, gives history and heritage stories a setting that needs no dressing. Each location runs on permits and rules, National Park Service approval at Great Falls Park and Park Authority permits at the county sites, and we build those timelines into the schedule from the start. Nearby in Vienna, the Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens adds a glass-walled garden setting for receptions and interviews when a production needs one.
Production logistics follow the same local rules. Georgetown Pike is narrow and curving, so gear moves in right-sized vehicles with load-in plans that respect residential gates and long driveways. Outdoor audio respects Fairfax County's noise ordinance, which restricts amplified sound late in the evening. And with no hotels in Great Falls, crews and talent plan around stays in Tysons, McLean, or DC, which our local base makes simple.
Where we shoot: Great Falls Park and the Potomac overlooks; Riverbend Park; Turner Farm equestrian facilities; Colvin Run Mill; Great Falls Grange; L'Auberge Chez Francois grounds; private estates and barns along Georgetown Pike; The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, nearby Vienna.
Most video crews arrive in Great Falls as visitors with a shot list. We are based in Washington, DC, a short drive away, and we work here as neighbors. Our producers and crews know which settings need a permit and how long that permit takes, how an interview plays in a tent at dusk, how to light a face under a tree canopy without making a garden look like a set, and how to behave on private land where the host's trust is the whole ballgame.
Being local also makes us flexible. A founder interview rescheduled by a day, a second morning at Turner Farm because the light was better in the forecast, a pickup shot at the mill when an edit needs it: we can respond the same week, often the same day, because the team and the gear already live here.
And because events, video, and marketing sit under one roof at Simple, your footage does not end as a file on a drive. The gala film becomes the year-end appeal. The interview becomes a campaign. The event capture becomes a content library, cut for every channel it needs to live on, by the same team that shot it.
We deliver what we say we will. We treat your budget, timeline, brand, and reputation with care.
Yes, and it is some of our most common work here. We interview your founders, beneficiaries, and honorees in the weeks before the event, edit the piece for the exact room and screen it will play on, and capture the gala itself for the recap and next year's appeal. If Simple is also producing the event, the film, sound, and staging are planned together from the start.
Yes. Most of our Great Falls shoots are on private land. We scout the property with you, plan vehicle and gear access around gates and driveways, keep the footprint quiet and contained, and leave the site as we found it. For equestrian properties, we brief the crew on working around horses before anyone unloads a case.
We manage the production side of it. Great Falls Park requires National Park Service approval, and Riverbend Park, Turner Farm, and Colvin Run Mill run through Fairfax County Park Authority permits. Timelines vary by site and by the size of the production, and we will tell you honestly how much lead time your location needs before we lock a date.
Interview-based films usually run three to five weeks from first shoot to final delivery, paced by interview availability and review rounds. Event recaps and social cuts move faster, often within days of the event. Because our team is based a short drive away in Washington, DC, pickup shots and revisions do not wait on anyone's travel schedule.
An interview runs lean, usually three to four people: producer-director, camera, audio, and a grip. Gala capture and equestrian work scale up with additional cameras and lighting. We staff to the production you actually need, plan the vehicle footprint for narrow roads and residential access, and show you the crew plan in the quote.
Yes. We build repeatable interview and story formats for nonprofits, schools, and local businesses, filmed at your property or a consistent location, then handle recording, editing, and the clips that help each piece travel. A regular cadence is how a Great Falls organization turns one good story into a library its donors and members actually follow.
We needed a Netflix-level crew to film our comedy special, and Simple delivered beyond expectation.
